Himachal 6 day itinerary ( Mcleodganj - Dharamkot - Triund Trek - Lahaul Valley - Kasol - Pulga)
The total cost of our trip was $1205 for two people (all-inclusive, covering direct flights to Himachal).
Himachal Pradesh feels like a gentle pause from the noise of everyday life. Tucked in the lap of the Himalayas, it carries a quiet rhythm—where misty mornings, pine-scented air, and snow-kissed peaks create a sense of calm that stays with you long after you leave.
The warmth of its people adds to the charm, with simple smiles and genuine hospitality that make you feel instantly at home. Local flavors—from steaming momos to comforting mountain curries—bring both richness and comfort to every meal.
Above all, Himachal isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling. A peaceful, almost spiritual escape where nature, culture, and serenity come together to quietly reset your soul.

Day 1 – McLeodganj & Dharamkot
We landed in Dharamshala at the most picturesque airport around 1 PM and took a cab to what can only be described as the most Pinterest-worthy, charming Airbnb in McLeodganj. After soaking in the serene mountain views for a while, we rented a scooty and set off towards Dharamkot.
Our first stop was a popular cozy café overlooking the charming streets of Dharamkot. There, we had what might just be the best thukpa in India, along with a delicious corn schnitzel and a few other treats. From there, we wandered through the quaint streets of Dharamkot—an enchanting mix of calm and energy, dotted with cozy cafés, creative workshops, and little shops.
We climbed up to the top and paused at another café, where we enjoyed some excellent vegan tea. We also picked up a specially made vegan hazelnut chocolate cake and savored it while taking in the stunning views and warm, friendly vibe. Dharamkot felt effortlessly young, lively, and peaceful all at once.
After exploring the area, picking up eco-friendly bags, purses, and a few souvenirs, we rode back to McLeodganj in the evening. We spent some time exploring the night market before heading back to our Airbnb.
Day 2 – Triund Trek
We began the day with a visit to the Dalai Lama Temple, where we bought prayer flags, solid perfumes, and other locally made items. After a hearty breakfast at a scenic café, we packed our bags and took a cab to Gallu Devi Temple—the starting point of our trek to Triund.
With the help of a seasoned local guide, we began our climb, carrying only minimal essentials for our overnight stay. By around 4 PM, we reached Triund Top, and the view was nothing short of magical. On one side stood the majestic, snow-capped Dhauladhar range glowing in the sunlight, while Triund itself was lush green, resembling a peaceful meadow with sheep and cows grazing freely.
We checked into our stay (a rare and lucky find at Triund), spent some time walking around, and then enjoyed a beautiful sunset with hot Maggi in hand. As night fell, we freshened up, had a simple yet delicious dinner by a bonfire, admired the star-filled sky, and drifted off to sleep.
Day 3 – Triund to Manali
We woke up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise, with sheep grazing around us and the mountains slowly coming to life. After breakfast, we began our descent and reached McLeodganj by early afternoon.
On the way back, we made sure to try the famous Bhagsu cake. After collecting our luggage and freshening up, we booked a cab to Manali and packed some lunch for the journey. The drive was long but scenic, with a satisfying food break along the way.
We reached Manali at night, checked into a hotel on Mall Road, and called it a day—resting up for an early start the next morning.
Day 4 – Khoksar & Lahaul Valley
After enjoying some local parathas, we headed towards our luxurious stay in Lahaul Valley. The property was stunning—nestled beside a river, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and offering panoramic views of the valley, along with exceptional service.
After checking in, we drove to a nearby snow point, where we spent hours playing in the snow and soaking in the incredible scenery. By evening, we returned to the hotel and changed before heading out for a beautifully arranged high-tea picnic by the riverside.
The day ended with a cozy dinner in our room and a restful night in a heated bed—pure comfort after a day in the cold.
Day 5 – Kasol
We started the morning with a peaceful walk through Lahaul Valley, surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains. It was quiet, beautiful, and incredibly calming. After enjoying hot parathas at a local stall, we returned to our hotel for another delicious breakfast with a view.
Post checkout, we made our way to Manali bus stand and began our journey to Kasol via local bus and a private cab. We arrived by late afternoon, checked into a hostel, and set out to explore.
We walked through Kasol and made our way to Chalal, spending time at riverside cafés and enjoying the laid-back vibe. Dinner was at another café by the river before heading back for the night.
Day 6 – Chalal & Pulga
We loved Chalal so much that we decided to revisit it in the morning. Later, we rented a two-wheeler and rode to Pulga—a place that felt straight out of a fairytale. Surrounded by pine forests and lush greenery, Pulga had a calm, simple charm that was hard to leave behind.
We spent the day walking around, enjoying local food, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. By evening, we returned to Kasol, checked out, had some Mediterranean food, and then took a cab to our hotel in Bhuntar.
Day 7 – Goodbye Himachal
We had an early morning flight from Bhuntar airport, marking the end of our trip.
Himachal, once again, left me completely mesmerized. This was my second visit, and I already know it won’t be my last. Himachal is undoubtedly my favorite place.
